In his first post at 12:18 UTC, Nesbitt wrote: “DEFUND DEI.” At 15:55 UTC the same day, he expressed support for former President Trump with the statement: “President Trunp was right. AGAIN!” Later that afternoon at 16:28 UTC, Nesbitt commented on expert opinion by stating: “Once again, the “experts” got it wrong.”
Nesbitt has previously been vocal in opposing DEI programs in public institutions. DEI initiatives have become a contentious issue across several states in recent years as lawmakers debate their role in education and government policy. Additionally, public discourse over trust in experts has intensified since the COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2020.
