On June 18, 2025, Senator Nesbitt highlighted his concerns about the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), also known as MI USAID. He stated, “Another example of why we need to DOGE MEDC (aka MI USAID)”. The tweet suggests skepticism towards the organization’s activities or effectiveness.

Later that day, Senator Nesbitt reiterated his position regarding financial allocations to MEDC. He urged constituents to consider this perspective when evaluating budgetary decisions involving taxpayer money. He tweeted, “Remember this when Democrats say we need to give millions of your tax dollars to MEDC in the next budget:”.

In a separate tweet on June 19, 2025, Senator Nesbitt expressed condolences for Staff Sgt. Saul Fabian Gonzalez from Pullman, Michigan. Gonzalez served with the 101st Airborne Division and died while serving in Iraq. Senator Nesbitt wrote with empathy about Gonzalez’s service: “With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of Staff Sgt. Saul Fabian Gonzalez…His dedication, courage, and sacrifice for our nation were truly exemplary.”
