In one post from that morning, Nesbitt announced his stance against sanctuary cities: “I proudly voted to DEFUND Sanctuary Cities. Public safety is NOT optional.” (July 28, 2025). Later that day, he commented on educational trends in Michigan schools: “Kids in Michigan continue to fall behind. We need to get away from DEI, gender theory, and woke curriculums. Let’s get back to reading, writing and arithmetic.” (July 28, 2025).
Nesbitt also raised concerns about criminal justice practices following a recent incident: “Eligible for bond? This individual just went on a rampage, and by the grace of God didn’t end anyone’s life. Allowing him to be released into the community spits in the face of those who protect and serve, and only puts more people at risk.” (July 28, 2025).
