City of Madison Heights issued the following announcement on Nov. 8.
With 80,000-90,000 people a year visiting our Library, the old carpet had a million pairs of shoes walk over it in the last 12 years, and was due for a much-needed replacement. The new carpet adds light, vibrancy, and a breath of fresh air to the building. It seemed like a long project, and we ran into a few hiccups along the way, but laying 10,000 square feet of carpet in a 56-year-old building doesn’t happen overnight. And best of all, we kept the building open for the duration of the project, allowing our residents and visiting patrons to access this vital community resource. DPS would like to thank City Council for their support of this project, the staff at the Library for their patience working in a construction zone, and, of course, Floorcraft Systems, for this excellent finished product, and a job well done every step of the way!
Check out these progress pictures from the project, and if you haven’t seen it in person, stop on by!
