The Michigan House recently announced the approval for the funding granted to the Clarkston Depot Park project, which is part of a program to improve outdoor recreation events across the state, according to Michigan House Republicans.
Rep. Andrea Schroeder (R-Independence Township) says that the project will be funded by the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund. The recommendations were proposed to the Michigan House, where they are working to finalize the plan.
Schroeder says $50,000 will replace and expand the Clarkston Depot Park walkway system. The project will make the system more accessible.

A new accessibility ramp will be installed at the park’s gazebo. The gazebo is the site of weddings, prom photos and other gatherings. In addition, new benches near the playground will be installed on expanded pads, providing much easier access to wheelchair users.
“Depot Park is a favorite spot in our community, and these improvements will make it more enjoyable to even more people,” Schroeder told the Michigan House Republicans website. “I am always working to ensure statewide project lists like this one include support for the parks used by our friends and neighbors here in our community.”
