Another $219,000 in grants was recently approved under Oakland County’s "Saving Business, Saving Lives" grant program, which allots funds to local producers to provide incentives to shift their production to personal protective equipment needed for to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The latest round of grants will go to five local companies, according to the Oakland County website.
Those companies include Detroit Multimedia for the creation of coronavirus-related signage, Cadillac Products Automotive Co. for producing medical isolation gowns, Aero Design Systems for production of “an ultraviolet light sterilization 'tunnel' system designed to quickly and automatically sanitize large objects such as grocery carts, wheelchairs, hospital beds and luggage," CAC Asset Solutions for its sanitization service covering bank-owned residential properties that are for sale, and Urgent Plastics Services for its production of face shields.
Each of the companies benefiting from the most recent round of grants are already active in services or production related to the coronavirus pandemic but are expected to expand their operations with the funds.
