Trying to stay safe and healthy during the age of COVID-19 has forced many people to think outside the box.
With that in mind, Oakland County officials have conceived their first virtual job fair, which is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 23. More than 50 area employers -- with hundreds of job openings -- are expected to attend.
The event is hosted by Oakland County Michigan Works!, and those seeking employment can take part in two sessions. One runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and the other will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Advanced registration is required.
County officials are encouraging job seekers to sign up for both sessions because there will be different employers featured.
“During this time of uncertainty, Oakland County Michigan Works! organized this virtual event, featuring job opportunities in a variety of industries that must be filled now as our economy continues to recover,” Oakland County Executive David Coulter said on Oakland County's website. “Most of these jobs are located in Oakland County.”
A list of employers can be found on Oakland County's website, where you can also register for both the morning and afternoon sessions.
