City of Birmingham issued the following announcement on Oct. 13.
Fall leaf collection has begun! The City has different protocols depending on what kind of street you live on:
• Curbed streets: The City has divided curbed streets into two zones. You can determine when leaves will be picked up within your zone using this map. Simply rake your leaves into the street the weekend prior to your street's designated pickup week.
• Uncurbed streets: Residents living on uncurbed streets may place leaves in approved containers curbside by 7 a.m. on trash day now through the week of December 14th.
