City of Madison Heights issued the following announcement on Nov. 16.
Chipper crews from the Department of Public Services will be starting in the south end and working north until all storm damage is chipped up. You can help them out by adhering to the following guidelines:
If the limb is hanging from the tree, in the street, or blocking a driveway, please call DPS at (248) 589-2294 for emergency service.
If the limb is down, but not in the street or blocking a driveway, you do not need to call. DPS chipper crews are going through the entire city, and will be by as soon as they can.
Whenever possible, please drag the limb out to the right-of-way between the sidewalk and the street. If the limb is too large to easily move, DPS will remove it from the front yard only; we cannot remove limbs from backyards.
