Birmingham Public Schools issued the following announcement on Sept 10.
We are very excited to announce that Bloom Upcycle Boutique opened this week and the first day was a huge success! Bloom had over 75 visitors and students wrote 63 notes of gratitude for the items they "purchased.”
Bloom will now be open for all BPS high school students every Tuesday during A and B lunch at Seaholm High School. Beginning in mid-October, Bloom will also be open one day each week after school.
Sponsored by SOS, PTAs, and BPS, Bloom is a second-hand store that encourages students to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Instead of paying for items at Bloom, students simply write notes of gratitude about their school, teachers, and staff to help create a caring and positive community.
Bloom runs on donations and is always looking for gently-used clothing and other items high school students love such as jewelry, accessories, athletic gear, college gear, candles, sunglasses, young adult books, test prep workbooks, homecoming dresses, and Seaholm & Groves caps & gowns!
Items can be dropped off on school days at the Seaholm High School security vestibule off Lincoln between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Please label all items, Bloom. If you have any questions, please contact Suzanne O’Leary, Community Service Organizer, soleary@birmingham.k12.mi.us.
Thank you so much for helping us build our earth friendly store where social emotional wellness meets environmental responsibility - Bloom!
