Birmingham Public Schools issued the following announcement on Sept 23.
Groves Senior Karen Austin has been named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team based on her performance in the classroom (above 3.5 GPA) and in the pool (Junior National qualifier). USA Swimming selected 1,231 high school student-athletes, 19 of whom are also from Michigan. Congrats, Karen!
