Third graders at Norup International School

Hillsideelementary

Berkley School District recently issued the following announcement.

Third graders at Norup International School helped fellow students, parents, and staff send good cheer to each other for the holidays. For 50 cents, students and staff could purchase candy canes along with cheerful messages for others. They were delivered on Friday, December 17. The Norup teachers made sure a candy cane was delivered to every child - parents even sent in donations to help make this happen.

The 3rd grade students delivered over 1,100 candy canes and messages and made over $500. 3rd grade teacher Devra Goldberg shared, “Profits will not only go towards a third grade event, but also donations were made to The Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind and Visually Impaired and to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in support of some students in our classes.”
