Can you believe that our Citizen Police Academy is already through week 4?
Time is flying and our CPA students are having a great time. In week 4 of the CPA, our students learned about how we train our officers and some of the tools we use to deliver that training. The main attraction of week 4 was the opportunity for our students to use our MILO system. MILO is a simulation training system designed for law enforcement to provide virtual training for everything from critical incident training, de-escalation, decision support training, traditional tactical judgment training, and firearms proficiency training. ROPD firearms and defensive tactics instructors can use simulations, scenario-based training, and mission-specific interactive judgment training to help sharpen the skills of our staff.
Week 4 also featured discussion on some of the other key aspects of our operations, including police motorcycles, police mountain bikes, evidence technicians, and honor guard, as well as our auxiliary officer and police chaplain programs.
Check back in next week, as week 5 should be an another exciting evening for our students, who will learn about our firearms and use-of-force training. Stay tuned and have a great week!
