2022-2027 Strategic Plan for Birmingham Public Schools

Dear Birmingham Public Schools Families,

With great pleasure, I present the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan for Birmingham Public Schools. Our strategic plan was unanimously approved by the Board of Education during its regular meeting on Sept. 20. This plan is the culmination of work that will chart our course for years to come.

We are thrilled to share this plan with the Birmingham community, and our staff cannot wait to bring the community’s vision to fruition. The implementation of our plan is our commitment to ensure Birmingham Public Schools achieves and offers programs that are among the very best in Michigan and across the country.

The adoption of the strategic plan comes after extensive discussions with internal and external stakeholders, aligning with the district’s overall mission. We are proud of our partnership with the variety of stakeholders who want to ensure our students have a world-class education.

Working in partnership with parents and the community, Birmingham Public Schools will continue its mission of providing educational excellence that boldly empowers students to cultivate their individual brilliance and positively impact their world.

The strategic priorities are as follows:

  • Student Achievement
  • Culture of Unity & Wellbeing
  • World-Class Talent
  • Responsible Stewardship
Our strategic plan is a dynamic document in which we will make adjustments as needed. Most importantly, our plan serves as a compass to guide our district to new heights so that students have a great educational experience. Working together, we will continue to build a stronger Birmingham Public Schools community focused on academic excellence for all.

Sincerely,

Dr. Embekka Roberson Superintendent, Birmingham Public Schools
