The local snow emergency has been lifted as of 12 PM on 03/04/23. A big thank you to our Public Works and Public Safety staff for all the hard work they put in to make our travels safe!

_________________________________________________________

Given the heavy anticipated snowfall, the City of Berkley has declared a snow emergency for Friday, March 3, 2023, beginning at 5 PM.

NWS Highlights:

As a reminder, parking is not permitted on the streets or in public parking lots until the snow emergency has been lifted.

  • NOTE: Owners must place snow from their driveways and sidewalks onto their front yard or other areas of their own property, and not into the street. This practice reduces the number of icy areas on streets and ensures proper drainage flow into the storm sewer once the snow melts.
Lastly, please keep trash cans out of the street and keep fire hydrants clear of snow for our public safety and public works departments (trash bins can be placed on the easement or driveway approach).

BUILDING CLOSURE NOTICE:

Our departments would like to share the following closure updates for the safety of staff and the community for TODAY (03/03/23):

  • The Library will be closed at 4 PM. All evening programs and events have been cancelled.
  • City Hall will be closed at 4 PM.
  • The Community Center will be closed at 4 PM. All evening programs and events have been cancelled.
  • Public Safety will continue to provide 24-hour operations and support to the community.
  • Public Works office will be closed at 3:30 PM. However, crews will be out salting the roads and prepping for the storms.
Normal hours are currently scheduled to resume on Monday, March 6, 2023.
