Senator Aric Nesbitt, a Michigan state legislator, posted a series of tweets on October 20, 2025, commenting on national political issues, recent events in California, and gas prices in Michigan.

In a tweet posted at 13:21 UTC, Nesbitt criticized Democratic lawmakers, stating, "Shocker. Democrats are using Americans as bargaining chips to score political points with their base. Who could have ever saw that coming?"

Shortly after, at 13:28 UTC, Nesbitt referenced property damage during protests in California, saying, "Still less damage than what the average car receives during a 'protest' in Gavin’s California." The tweet alludes to incidents of vandalism and destruction that have occurred during protests in the state governed by Gavin Newsom.

Later that day, at 14:42 UTC, Nesbitt commented on fuel prices in his home state: "Gas prices in Michigan are at their lowest price in 4 years. It’s almost like the only thing we needed was a new President!" The senator attributed the decline to a change in presidential administration.

Gasoline prices can fluctuate due to a range of factors including global oil markets, regional supply and demand, seasonal trends, and policy decisions at both state and federal levels.

Senator Aric Nesbitt has previously been vocal about energy issues and has frequently criticized Democratic policies related to the economy and public safety.
