Birmingham Unitarian Church recently issued the following announcement.
BUC is a long-time supporter of The Welcome Inn Day Center, the only daytime center for unhoused individuals in Oakland County. The Welcome Inn operates during the winter months and provides a safe, warm place for guests to shower, make phone calls, have a meal, explore job opportunities, store belongings, accept mail, and get connected to community social services. The center operates under the nonprofit South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless (SOCH).
Please join SOCH on Thursday, October 24 at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle for their annual fundraiser in support of the the Welcome Inn. Tickets include dinner and family-friendly comedy. There will also be a cash bar, silent auction, and other fun things. Come on out to this great event for a good cause!
