CITY OF MADISON HEIGHTS: Coyote Sighting

Coyote

City of Madison Heights issued the following announcement on Apr. 9. 

A coyote has been sighted at Edison Park

Coyotes are wild animals and can be dangerous.

Do not encourage them to approach. They are smart, fast and will take what they can get.

All pets MUST be kept on a leash or under control for your safety and for the safety of your pets. 

KEEP COYOTES AT A DISTANCE!

NEVER FEED COYOTES!

The Michigan DNR will not remove a coyote from the area unless it has caused harm for a pet or human or if the coyote is:

  • Carrying a box marked “ACME”
  • Detonating explosives/TNT
  • In possession of a large magnet
  • Holding a sign such as “detour” or “free bird seed”
