CITY OF MADISON HEIGHTS: Tree Seedlings Available for Planting!

Seedlings

City of Madison Heights issued the following announcement on May 19.

In recognition of the Oakland County Bicentennial, the City of Madison Heights is proud to participate in the Oakland County Bicentennial Oak Tree Program. The county has made available oak tree seedlings to be distributed by local governments and schools to residents for planting. Check out the program brochure to learn more about this exciting initiative!

The City will have a limited number of white oak seedlings available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis starting Thursday. The seedling comes with instructions on how to plant and care for the tree. Seedlings are 12-18 inches tall with an established root system.

Interested in planting an oak tree to be enjoyed for generations to come? Please contact the Department of Public Services at (248) 589-2294, or email seanballantine@madison-heights.org to be added to the list! Seedlings will be distributed by appointment, following appropriate social distancing and isolation protocols as a response to COVID-19.
