City of Royal Oak issued the following announcement on Oct. 30.

ROYAL OAK CITY COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE NOTICE

is hereby given that the

Royal Oak City Commission will hold a regular meeting on Monday, November 9, 2020, at 7:30 pm.

Pursuant to State of Michigan Public Act 228 of 2020, public bodies have the authority to conduct public meetings remotely until December 31, 2020. COVID-19 is a new strain of coronavirus that had not been previously identified in humans, can spread easily from person to person, and can result in serious illness or death. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, to protect the public health, and provide essential protections to vulnerable Michiganders, it is crucial that all Michiganders take steps to limit in-person contact. The critical mitigation measures include social distancing and limiting the number of people interacting at public gatherings.

Therefore, this meeting will be held electronically, in compliance with Public Act 228 of 2020. During the meeting, the city commission will hold a public hearing on substantial amendments to the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) annual action plan. The amendments identify how the city intends to allocate additional CDBG funds from the enactment of the CARES Act to prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19.

Members of the public may participate in a public hearing by mailing written comments addressed to the Royal Oak City Commission, 203 S. Troy St., Royal Oak, MI 48067. Written comments must be received no later than Friday, November 6, 2020.
