City of Hazel Park issued the following announcement on Sept 29.
Today is National VFW Day. The VFW - Veterans of Foreign Wars - plays a vital role in providing advocacy, support and friendship for veterans of foreign wars in hundreds of local chapters across the country. These veterans have fought bravely to defend our freedom and security.
We give our thanks, especially to the members of VFW Posts 1669 in Royal Oak and 1407, located in Madison Heights.
