Knowing the sounds from your detectors

Smoke

Clawson Fire Department issued the following announcement on Oct 7.

Knowing the sounds from your detectors is important. Normally, three beeps means smoke our fire, four beeps mean carbon monoxide. But a single chirp every minute or so means you need to replace the battery or the detector itself.  Most detectors have a 10 year lifespan.

Each detector is unique. If your check the back of it, it should explain what each sound means.
