City of Hazel Park issued the following announcement on Nov 4.
Starting November 3, 2021 at 12pm thru November 13, 2021 12pm, please stop by the Hazel Park Veterans Memorial located just outside City Hall at 111 E Nine Mile Road. Write a veteran's name, a memory, or a thank-you on a provided yellow ribbon and tie it to the art installation. This outdoor art experience will remain in place for one week and then move to the Hazel Park Library where it will remain interactive and can be accessed by all, thru the rest of November. In December it will move to the Hazel Park Historical Museum where it will remain active and interactive. Add your Veterans story, stop by all three locations, and visit multiple times to watch it grow.
This modern interactive art installation was designed, created and facilitated by Councilmember Alissa Sullivan with partnership from The Hazel Park Arts Council, The Hazel Park Memorial District Library and The Hazel Park Historical Museum.
"The goal of this interactive art is to create a modern art experience, made up entirely from contributions of the public and multiple city groups, while honoring Veterans for Veterans Day. Each person will experience this art in their own unique way. The Tie A Yellow Ribbon project evolves as more people participate, thus celebrating both our City's past as well as our City's future." Alissa Sullivan, creator.
