Berkley School District issued the following announcement on Nov 23.
Larry Naumann has been part of the Berkley Schools family for 59 years. He started as a student at Pattengill, then Anderson and Berkley High. After graduating high school, he joined the Berkley Schools maintenance team as a custodian, and he’s been a team member for the last 46 years. At the end of this month, Larry is hanging up his keys and moving on to retirement.
Being a custodian and head of the maintenance crew means working odd hours, checking road conditions at 4 in the morning, cleaning up messes of all kinds, cutting the grass and building items for schools. It’s work that often isn’t noticed but keeps schools running. Larry has been integral in keeping the Berkley School District in good shape for decades. He is proud of everything he has accomplished, the team and all the work they do, from cleaning up throw up to building shelving for classrooms and everything in between.
The Communications Team sat down with Mr. Naumann to ask him about his time in the District, what he plans to do in retirement and what he hopes his legacy is. Watch the video below, to learn about the District’s current longest serving staff member.
Congratulations on your retirement, Larry, it’s well deserved!
