Birmingham Adult Education named best program in Michigan

Birmingham Public Schools recently issued the following announcement.

Jill Fill, Community Education Specialist & Adult Education Supervisor, and  Linda Grindem, Lead Teacher will receive a certificate from Patrick Brown, Director of Michigan Association of Community and Adult Education (MACAE), and Tammy Brown, President of the MACAE Board of Directors, for being the top program in adult education performance outcomes across the state in 2020-2021 program year.

The statewide Measurable Skills Gain Target was 50% and Birmingham obtained 87.80%. The Measurable Skills rate is determined on an annual basis in consideration of adult learner outcomes in the following areas: Educational Functioning Level Attainment, High School Credit completion, High School Credential Attainment, Employment after program exit, Median Wage Earnings if employed. 

In addition to this success, Birmingham ranked second in the highest median earnings, meaning program completers are transitioning into steady employment with commiserate wages. Birmingham has placed top 10 within the last three years for meeting Measurable Skills Gain statewide. Once again, congratulations to Birmingham Adult Education, Jill Fill, Linda Grindem, Elise Herner, Noelle Bogan and Paula Kotrba for this outstanding recognition.
