Water main break at 13950 Kenwood

Sewer 1000x667

City of Oak Park issued the following announcement on Feb 11.

There has been a water main break at 13950 Kenwood; our DPW crews are aware of the break and are working to repair it.

Residents in that area may experience temporary water shutoffs while this break is fixed.

Sometimes when there are disturbances in the water main, it can cause minerals/sediments to temporarily get kicked up into the water. This is no cause for serious concern. The water is still safe to use. We advise residents if they experience any brown or “rusty” water to run cold water in the bathtub or utility sink until the coloration subsides. Typically, the water should clear up in about 10-15 minutes.

We appreciate residents' patience as we work to fix the break and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If any other further developments arise regarding this issue, we will inform everyone immediately.
