City of Birmingham's snow emergency parking ban

Snow plow

City of Birmingham recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Birmingham's snow emergency parking ban for all residential streets will begin at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17.

During the ban, it is a civil infraction to park a vehicle or allow it to remain parked on any residential roadway until it has been cleared of snow. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and may be towed, and the registered owner of such a vehicle will be responsible for the towing cost. Please do not shovel snow into the road or onto someone else's property.

The gates are open for free access to the Chester Street Parking Structure (180 Chester Street) to assist residents with moving vehicles off the street. For parking concerns please call police dispatch at 248-530-1889.

Please note there is no change to your refuse collection day. Set containers out by 7 a.m. on your normal collection day.
