Do you have piles of branches or brush in your yard that you’ve been meaning to dispose of, but haven’t? Do you have a tree you’ve trimmed, or plan on trimming, but need a good excuse to do it? Well have we got a deal for you!
The week of May 2nd has been designated by the City of Madison Heights as a NO FEE Brush Chipping Week. During this week you may place your branches and brush curbside. Your piles of brush will be chipped Free of Charge by one of several brush chipping crews from the Department of Public Services.
Rules for this week of free chipping are as follows:
• Branches placed neatly in piles at curbside cut to 4’ lengths with butt end toward road.
• Branches must not extend into the street, nor can they block the sidewalk.
• Branches will be chipped on your regular trash day, so please don’t set out your branches prior to 7:00 pm the day before your trash day.
City crews will be traveling throughout the entire City each day, until every bit of brush is chipped at every home in Madison Heights, Free of Charge. Brush must be placed curbside. Crews will not be able to “drag” brush from private property.
