Absentee Ballot Updates

Important Absentee Voting dates to remember:

November 4, 2022 5:00 p.m. – Last day to obtain an absentee ballot via First Class Mail. 

November 7, 2022 4:00 p.m. – Last day to obtain an absentee ballot in person in the clerk’s office.

November 8, 2022 8:00 p.m. – Election Day registrants may obtain and vote an absent voter ballot in person in the clerk’s office with proof of residency or vote in person the proper precinct. 

November 8, 2022 8:00 p.m. – Absentee ballots must be returned by close of polls at 8:00 p.m.  (Must be returned to the clerk’s office and not a precinct)

Please Consider when Voting by absentee ballot:

Please return your voted ballot as soon as possible for ease of processing on election day!  The clerk’s greatly appreciate this effort!

If you incorrectly mark your or destroy your ballot, you can request a new ballot!  Visit the clerk’s office to complete the process in obtaining your replacement ballot.

Please do not request an absentee ballot if you do not intend to vote it!  - You can view sample ballots at What's on the ballot? (state.mi.us) or www.hwmi.org or visit City Hall to view the ballot.

If you do not receive your ballot by mail, please if at all possible contact the clerk’s office prior to election day to obtain a new one.  If your ballot still does not arrive by election day, visit the proper precinct to complete the process of cancelling your absentee ballot and voting in person!

Additional City Hall Hours:

City Hall will be open for election business only on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to issue and receive absentee ballots and register voters with proof of residency.

City Hall will remain open during the lunch hour of 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. the week leading up to the November 8,2022 election for election business.
