The Birmingham Fire Department offers CPR courses open to the public!
The free Family & Friends CPR course is held on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and covers the basics of CPR, relief of foreign-body airway obstruction and more. This course lasts about two hours and is a great educational opportunity for both adults and children.
The Heartsaver CPR course covers CPR, relief of foreign-body airway obstruction and Automated External Defibrillation (A.E.D.). Participants who complete this course will receive their AHA CPR card with expiration of two years. The final class of the year will be held on October 22 starting at 8:00 a.m. This class lasts approximately four to five hours and the fee is $45.00.
All CPR courses are held at Station 1, located at 572 South Adams Rd. Space is limited and registration is required. To register, call the Birmingham Fire Department at (248) 530-1906.
