Berkley, Michigan – October 24, 2022 – The Berkley Downtown Development Authority’s (DDA) annual BOO!KLEY season has been a massive hit in the community throughout the month of October, and the biggest event yet happens this Saturday, October 29, 2022. The Trick-or-Treat Stroll and the Monster Mash will be the ultimate family Halloween event of the season.
For the Trick-or-Treat Stroll, over 100 downtown businesses are participating as stops distributing candy and prizes. The activity is from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, with the route running along Twelve Mile Road and Coolidge. Hundreds of children in costumes make for an awesome scene throughout the downtown; adults are also encouraged to dress up. Maps of the confirmed stops will be available at participating retailers, on the www.downtownberkley.com/bookley website, and on the Downtown Berkley Facebook page and Instagram account.
After families have visited the stores with trick-or-treating action, a massive block party called the Monster Mash is back for a second year. The Monster Mash is from 2:00 to 5:00 pm also on October 29th. This year, it has quadrupled in size and will be happening in the middle of Coolidge; the roadway is closed from Twelve Mile to Catalpa during the event.
Monster Mash activities include crafts, games, music, performances, jugglers, aerialists, stilt walkers, unicyclists, and more. Downtown Berkley is decorated with hundreds of skeletons, with even more photo-worthy displays planned for the Monster Mash. The event is free and fun for all ages.
“If you and your family want to experience an epic Halloween event, you will definitely want to be in Downtown Berkley this Saturday,” said Mike McGuinness, Berkley DDA Executive Director. “The Trick-or-Treat Stroll and the Monster Mash will bring out thousands of people, and we’ve got ample room for everyone to come together and enjoy our festive downtown.”
