Senator Aric Nesbitt has recently taken to social media to express his concerns and criticisms regarding various political matters. His tweets, posted on May 21, 2025, cover a range of topics including political silencing, election procedures, and educational standards.

In one tweet from that day, Nesbitt highlighted an incident involving Senator Michele Hoitenga. He stated that "Senator @MicheleHoitenga was SILENCED by Democrats for FIGHTING BACK against the Green New Scam." The post suggests a confrontation over environmental policy issues.

Later the same day, Nesbitt questioned the priorities of state leadership in another tweet. He remarked on trips made by officials while an important electoral decision remained pending: "So we had time for trips to Vegas and Virginia this week but you still couldn’t call the election to fill our vacant Senate seat?" He further emphasized the need for prompt action by addressing Governor Gretchen Whitmer directly about the expectations of Michigan families.

In his final tweet of the day, Nesbitt compared educational policies between Michigan and Mississippi. He noted that while Michigan lowered its reading standards, Mississippi did the opposite with positive outcomes: "While Michigan was lowering reading standards, Mississippi was raising theirs. The result? Their kids can read. Ours can’t."

Governor Gretchen Whitmer is currently serving as the Governor of Michigan since January 2019.
