Senator Aric Nesbitt, a prominent political figure in Michigan, recently took to social media to express his views on several legislative matters. In a series of tweets, he addressed the Green New Deal and its implications for Michigan, as well as broader concerns about Democratic policies in the state.

On May 22, 2025, Senator Nesbitt announced via Twitter that he and his colleagues introduced a bill package aimed at dismantling what he referred to as "the Green New Scam" in Michigan. He questioned whether any Senate Democrats would join them in opposing the initiative and protecting local forests from Governor Whitmer's policies. "Yesterday my colleagues and I introduced a bill package that would DISMANTLE the Green New Scam in Michigan. Will any Senate Dems have the guts to stand with us and protect our forests from Whitmer’s axe?"

Later that same day, Senator Nesbitt criticized the impact of the Democrats' environmental strategy on various aspects of life in Michigan. He argued that these policies are detrimental to reliability, personal finances, and overall state welfare. "Democrats Green New Scam is: Bad for reliability. Bad for your wallet. Bad for Michigan."

Continuing his critique into the following day, May 23, 2025, Senator Nesbitt expressed broader disapproval of Democratic priorities within the state. He accused them of neglecting important societal concerns such as family safety and welfare in Michigan. "Michigan Democrats have made it clear: They don’t care about our girls. They don’t care about our families. They don’t care about safety. They don’t care about Michigan."

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been a proponent of environmentally focused policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy sources.
