Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt has expressed support for former President Donald Trump's policies following the arrest of two Chinese nationals. The individuals, including a University of Michigan student and her boyfriend, were detained by federal agents for allegedly attempting to smuggle a biological pathogen into the United States.

Nesbitt commented on the situation, saying, "If not for President Trump’s decisive leadership to restore order to our nation’s borders, Ann Arbor or another Michigan city may have become the next Wuhan or ground zero for agricultural terrorism."

He further praised the actions taken by law enforcement and highlighted the importance of scrutinizing the student visa system. "I’m grateful for the federal agents who worked to bring these individuals into custody and for the president’s efforts to crack down on the abused and exploited student visa system," he stated. "We cannot afford to stand by and look the other way while our colleges and universities are infiltrated by those who seek to do us harm."

Nesbitt's comments reflect ongoing concerns about national security related to immigration policies.
