Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt has called for the resignation of Michigan State Police Director Col. James Grady following a significant vote of no confidence from the MSP Troopers Association. The association reported that over 98% of its members expressed no confidence in Grady's leadership.

Nesbitt, representing Porter Township, released a statement describing the situation as "a damning indictment of the current administration." He stated, "It is undeniable that this is the absolute worst leadership our state police has ever seen and completely unacceptable for the troopers and public they serve."

He further emphasized the need for immediate change at the top, urging either Grady's resignation or his removal by the governor. Nesbitt highlighted recent national events involving elected officials siding with criminals and violent protesters, asserting that it is crucial for law enforcement professionals to feel supported by their leaders.
