Senator Aric Nesbitt, a notable figure in Michigan politics, recently took to social media to express his concerns regarding Governor Whitmer's international travels and the perceived lack of representation for certain Michigan residents. His tweets addressed both the actions of the Governor and the silence from other political figures.

On June 17, 2025, Senator Nesbitt tweeted about Governor Whitmer's travels, highlighting that "a quarter million residents still don’t have a voice in the Senate." He mentioned Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist, stating that "LG Gilchrist said himself the people deserve a vote" and questioned whether he would have "the courage" to provide them with one while acting as Governor. The original tweet can be found here.

In another tweet posted shortly after on the same day, Senator Nesbitt remarked on the absence of responses from Michigan Democrats concerning this issue. He stated, "Still not a single comment from ANY Michigan Democrats about this."

Further expressing his criticism of Governor Whitmer's leadership style, Senator Nesbitt tweeted that even members of her own party are growing weary. He noted, "Even her own party is getting tired of Whitmer acting like a Monarch."
