Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt, representing Porter Township, responded Wednesday to a press conference held by Senate Democrats that questioned the priorities of Republicans in Lansing.

Nesbitt criticized the focus of Senate Democrats following their return from a two-month recess. “After a two-month vacation, Winnie Brinks and Senate Democrats came back to Lansing to move a bill out of committee designating an official state duck. Forgive me if I take their lectures on priorities with a grain of salt,” Nesbitt said in his statement.

The comment follows recent legislative activity where the designation of an official state duck was discussed after the summer break.

Nesbitt’s office encouraged constituents to subscribe to his email list for updates about state government activities.
