On August 25, Nesbitt posted: "How long before Democrats start encouraging people to burn flags?" On the same day, he followed up with another post stating: "Senate Democrats do not believe in transparency."

The following day, Nesbitt continued his critique by asserting: "This is the least transparent Senate Majority in Michigan history."
